The WOODFLAT INTERMODAL FR090A is a platform conceived explicitly for the rail transport of timber logs, capable of operating on standard wagons without structural modifications. Its modular design provides interoperability, enabling significant reductions in costs and operational times while increasing the efficiency and sustainability of the logistics chain.
During 2024, this system enabled the transportation of over 206,000 tonnes across 315 trains, connecting Spain, specifically Extremadura, Galicia, Aragón, and Portugal. For 2025, a 75% increase in transported volume is anticipated. Its benefits include:

The award presentation at SIL 2025 recognised Medway for the successful implementation of the system, while also reinforcing the value of the innovation developed by Equimodal, which continues to lead from Aragón in designing modular, sustainable, and efficient intermodal solutions.
Although the award was presented in June at Equimodal, we celebrate this achievement today, because it is never too late to highlight the innovation and collaboration that are driving the future of freight rail in Europe.
